Music at First Presbyterian Church
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir, rehearses Thursday evenings during the school year from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the choir room. It is open to all high school students and adults interested in participating in the tradition of singing praise to the glory of God. The choir offers their music in the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service from September through early June. Anthems presented range from standard liturgical music to spirituals to contemporary hymn arrangements and compositions. Special programs such as A Service of Lessons and Carols, Tenebrae service, the Glorias of Mozart, Vivaldi, and Rutter, and concerts with other community choirs have been a part of the choir’s legacy for many years. People who aren’t able to commit to singing with the choir full-time are invited to join rehearsals for these special concerts. For more information, please contact the church office, 610-933-8816.
Praise Team
Worsihp is the giving of our adoration and praise to someone or something that we believe will give us life. We all worship something. The mission of the Praise Team at First Pres is to continually choose to worship Christ so that he may be worshiped above everything else. Christ is the source of all life. In choosing to worship Him we choose the best life possible for each of us. His presence brings us hope, healing and wholeness in a world desperate for second chances. Through music we provide space for regular people to meet this extraordinary God. We invite you to join us in this pursuit. Kevin Crossan, Praise Team Leader
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir currently uses a three-octave set of bells on loan from the Baptist Church of Phoenixville and welcomes ringers from both congregations. The choir is open to anyone middle school age through adult interested in learning to ring. They play in worship services at the Presbyterian Church regularly and have participated in worship at the Baptist Church on an occasional Sunday and at the Good Friday community service. The Handbell Choir rehearsal is at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays during the school year. Please contact
Barb Giebler through the church office, 610-933-8816, for more information.
Other Musical Opportunities
